Summary:
This article explains what the Open eBooks app is, who qualifies and how it works.  It then proceeds to discuss issues with the app and how it is being administered, recognizing that this is a brand new program and there are certainly bugs to work out.  It ends with an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the program.

Comment:
I chose this article because I thought some people might not be aware of the recently released app for low-income students.  I knew it was available for Title 1 schools, but did not realize libraries with high-poverty rates among patrons can also get codes for their patrons.  There are certainly problems with the roll out of this app, as addressed in the article, but every librarian, whether in schools or elsewhere, should be aware of the program as a possible connection for his or her library.
