Summary: The article looks at the school library project for
selecting, evaluating and setting criteria. Topics discussed include the 1st
phase of the project must focus on encouraging students in evaluating a picture
book and assessing standards for choosing Newberry Award-winning books, the 2nd
phase must be focused on teaching students in assigning criteria for choosing
books for fun or research reading, and the 3rd phase must guide students in
proper ways of choosing websites to browse.
Evaluation: This article would be helpful to any type of librarian in evaluating and setting criteria. The article provides a great example that can be used and adapted to any library.
